Antique writing desk with barley twisted legs

One of those rare finds we feel lucky to have come across — and now it's ready for a new home.
This antique writing desk was made around the 1930s from solid English oak. It features beautifully carved barley twist legs, a rope-edge top, and still has its original brass handles and escutcheons, aged to perfection.
We’ve fully restored the piece — carefully sanded, treated, and refinished — while keeping its natural character and charm. The wood has a soft, natural sheen that brings out the depth of the grain.
The drop-front panel folds down into a writing surface, and inside you’ll find sweet little compartments, perfect for letters, journals, or everyday bits and pieces. There are also two smooth-gliding drawers underneath, joined with proper dovetails — no shortcuts here.
It’s a compact piece that fits beautifully into bedrooms, studies, or living areas, especially where space is tight but personality matters.
